Mold Building
Our on-site tooling and mold building facility operates 24/5, with weekends as required, and is staffed with Journeymen toolmakers. We produce SPI Class one hundred five through Class one hundred one molds in sizes from 3.5" x 5" up to 24" x 30", with a 2-ton weight limit. We leverage our experience as injection molders utilizing the most advanced technology, including: high-speed hard machining, fully automated CNC, turning, milling and EDM machining. Our in-house capability also provides for quick tool modifications, ease of component prototyping, and virtually no downtime when repairs are necessary.
Over the years Crescent has produced a wide range of low and high volume tooling including: Mud units, hand loaded inserts, unscrewing and action molds, hot runner and stack, in a variety of materials.
In addition to building custom molds for our customers, we offer the very same mold-building expertise to other job shops that do not have in-house capabilities. This service encompasses analysis and repair of problem molds and preventative maintenance programs for all molds.
