Molding
In the final analysis, we are injection molders producing custom designed, high quality components. Our modern 50,000 Sq. Ft. molding facility operates 24/7 and is staffed by associates trained in Scientific Molding techniques, and certified by RJG, Inc. We perform a variety of molding processes that include;
| • | Injection Molding |
| • | Over Molding |
| • | Family Molding |
| • | Insert Molding |
We utilize carefully maintained hydraulic and electric molding machines, both horizontal and vertical/vertical, ranging in size from 35 to 385 tons, with shot sizes from .25 to 42.4 ounces.
Our goal is to provide the highest possible quality part at the lowest cost. Crescent's significant investment into decoupled/scientific molding technologies (SDM) has brought our PPM to a record low.
We utilize lean manufacturing techinques and have introduced automation including robotic pickers, conveyor systems, auto baggers and end-of-arm tooling to reduce labor and affect cost savings. Additionally we offer inventory management programs and KANBAN allowing our customers to reduce on-hand inventory and increase inventory turns. Again, our investments yield efficiencies, which translate to cost savings for our customers.
We mold a comprehensive range of engineering and commodity resins including;
ABS
AMMA
BDS
CTFE
EFTE
HDPE
LDPE
LLDPE
PE
PA
PBT
PC
PCABS
PCPBT
PCPET
PEI
PEEK
PES
PET
PMMA
POM
PP
PPA
PPE
PPEPS
PPS
PS
PSU
PVC
SEBS
TPE
TPU
TPX
Insert Molding: the integration of mechanical and electromechanical elements with thermoplastic structures offers many design benefits including;
| • | Reduction of part size and weight |
| • | Reduction of part-to-part dimensional variability |
| • | Parts consolidation |
| • | Reduction of "touch labor" |
| • | Overall cost reduction |
We manufacture inserts in our screw machine department eliminating reliance on outside providers and assuring dimensional integrity.
