Nidec America Corporation manufacturers a variety of small fans used to ventilate products such as computers and machine control cabinets.
Their Challenge:
Fan motors require electrical insulation between the laminated stack and the winding. To accomplish this result, Nidec dovetails a male and female insulator with a wall as thin as .010" in some places. Molding parts this thin was nearly impossible due to processing and tooling challenges.
Our Innovative Solution:
Crescent Industries' team of innovative mold designers, tool builders and injection molders had the fortitude and confidence to look outside the "accepted norms" of thin-wall injected plastic parts. By applying some innovative design and mold building techniques, Crescent has been providing consistent, high-quality thin-wall solutions for Nidec for more than 17 years.
